THURSDAY: GOV. MALLOY MAKES ANNOUNCEMENT ON IMPROVING COMMUNICATIONS WITH THE PUBLIC DURING TIMES OF EMERGENCY
(HARTFORD, CT) - On Thursday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will hold a news conference at the State Emergency Operations Center in Hartford to make an announcement concerning the state's efforts to improve communications with the public during times of emergency, specifically with those who are non-English speakers, have disabilities, or have certain functional needs. Earlier this year, the Governor
created the Emergency Communications Taskforce
to review that topic. While the group has been looking at all forms of state government communications, the immediate focus has specifically been on communications during emergency situations. In Connecticut, the height of hurricane season occurs between mid-August and mid-October.
