THURSDAY: GOV. MALLOY ANNOUNCES ADDITIONAL FUNDING FOR STRUGGLING SCHOOL DISTRICTS; ATTENDS INFINITY HALL GRAND OPENING IN HARTFORD

(HARTFORD, CT) - On Thursday at noon, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will visit with New Britain school officials to see the progress that's been made since the district joined the state's Alliance District program. Afterward, the Governor will hold a news conference to make a major announcement regarding the state's efforts to provide additional funding for underperforming schools. The education reform package that Governor Malloy signed into law in 2012 created the Alliance District program, which targets the state's underperforming schools for additional Educational Cost Sharing aid while developing comprehensive reform strategies to turn the schools around.

Later, Governor Malloy will attend the grand opening ceremony of Infinity Music Hall and Bistro in Hartford.
