WEDNESDAY: GOV. MALLOY ANNOUNCES EXPANSION OF PROGRAM TO HELP ELDERLY RENTERS STAY IN THEIR HOMES
(HARTFORD, CT) - On Wednesday at noon, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will hold a news conference in New Haven to announce details of the expansion of the state's Elderly Renters' Rebate Program, which provides a direct reimbursement to lower-income elderly or 100 percent disabled renters to help offset a portion of their rent and utility expenses. The expansion will help thousands of additional senior citizens stay in their own homes. The Governor will be joined at the announcement by Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman, Mayor Toni Harp, Department of Aging Acting Commissioner Margaret Gerundo-Murkette, state lawmakers, and renters who will benefit from the expansion.
