FRIDAY: GOV. MALLOY CHAIRS BOND COMMISSION MEETING; HIGHLIGHTS TOURIST ATTRACTIONS IN CENTRAL CONNECTICUT
(HARTFORD, CT) - On Friday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will chair a meeting of the State Bond Commission in Hartford, which will be followed by a media availability.
Later, Governor Malloy will visit locations in Central Connecticut to highlight popular tourism destinations the state has to offer visitors. In Connecticut, travel and tourism activities generate $11.5 billion annually in economic activity and are responsible for 110,000 jobs.
First, the Governor will visit Avery's Beverages in New Britain, where visitors have the opportunity to tour the factory and invent their own unique soda flavors in the company's mixing room.
Following that, the Governor will stop for lunch at GoldBurgers in Newington - a popular and locally-owned restaurant.
Finally, Governor Malloy will participate in a walking tour of Old Wethersfield - the state's largest historic district - for an opportunity to showcase tourist attractions the area offers. Planned visits include the Joseph Webb House Museum; the Silas Deane Museum; the Isaac Stevens Museum; Comstock, Ferre & Co.; and the Main Street Creamery.
