THURSDAY: GOV. MALLOY HOLDS NEWS CONFERENCE ON NEW HAVEN RAIL YARD UPGRADES; ATTENDS OTHER EVENTS IN NEW BRITAIN AND HARTFORD
(HARTFORD, CT) - On Thursday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will make welcoming remarks at the MetroHartford Alliance's 2014 Business Champions Awards Breakfast in Hartford.
Following that, Governor Malloy will participate in the opening ceremony of Central Connecticut State University's Confucius Institute in New Britain. The newly established institute was created to pursue the mission of furthering meaningful knowledge of Chinese language and culture.
Later, Governor Malloy and Connecticut Department of Transportation (DOT) Commissioner James P. Redeker will hold a news conference in New Haven, where they will provide updates on the status of the New Haven Rail Yard, which is undergoing a $1.15 billion, multi-year upgrade and expansion. The news conference will include a bus and walking tour of the 80-acre facility, which is where the DOT maintains its fleet of rail cars that serve the New Haven Line.
