GOV. MALLOY: SPECIAL ELECTION FOR STATE REPRESENTATIVE IN SHELTON, STRATFORD AND TRUMBULL TO BE HELD JULY 22
(HARTFORD, CT) - Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that a special election to fill a vacancy in the State House of Representatives serving the 122nd Assembly District, which covers portions of Shelton, Stratford and Trumbull, will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2014.
The seat had been held by State Representative Lawrence G. Miller, who passed away on June 1.
Under state law, the Governor is required to issue a Writ of Special Election within ten days of a vacancy in the General Assembly, and a special election must be held 46 days after its issuance. Governor Malloy is filing the writs - one for each of the town clerks of Shelton, Stratford and Trumbull - today.
