GOV. MALLOY'S COMMON CORE TASKFORCE TO MEET WEDNESDAY
(HARTFORD, CT) - Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the Educators' Common Core Implementation Taskforce is
scheduled to meet
on Wednesday, May 21, at Cromwell High School, 1 Donald Harris Drive in Cromwell. The meeting will run from 4:30-6:30 p.m. and will be held in library.
The taskforce will hear feedback from members concerning recent visits to Bethel and Cromwell schools. Following the presentations, the taskforce will receive data on a common core implementation poll and continue to discuss best practices as they work towards making recommendations on improving implementation of the Standards.
Governor Malloy created the taskforce by
executive order
to ensure that the input of the teachers, education professionals, and parents who are directly involved in the day-to-day activities of our public school system, is included in the process of implementing the Standards. The taskforce is comprised of 25 members, including 11 teachers, four principals, four superintendents or district curriculum leaders, two parents, two local board of education members, one school counselor and the Chief Academic Officer of Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE).
