FRIDAY: GOV. MALLOY MAKES MAJOR PRESERVATION ANNOUNCEMENT IMPACTING LAND ALONG LONG ISLAND SOUND; ATTENDS ADDITIONAL EVENTS IN HARTFORD & GREENWICH
(HARTFORD, CT) - On Friday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will hold a news conference in Hartford, where he will make a major announcement concerning efforts to protect and conserve a large section of land along the coast of Long Island Sound in the towns of Essex, Old Saybrook and Westbrook. He will be joined by members of the state's Congressional delegation, state lawmakers, town officials, and representatives of conservation groups.
Following that, Governor Malloy will participate in the Jewish Federation Association of Connecticut's 36th Annual Statewide Holocaust Commemoration at the State Capitol in Hartford.
In the afternoon, Governor Malloy will speak in New Britain at the Central Connecticut Regional Planning Agency's workshop for small and medium sized businesses on emergency preparedness and disaster recovery assistance.
In the evening, Governor Malloy will speak at the Villa Maria School's annual fundraiser, which benefits the school and its mission of serving students with learning disabilities.
Following that, Governor Malloy will speak at the Smart Kids with Learning Disabilities annual Community Service Awards Dinner, which benefits the organization and its mission of educating, guiding and inspiring families of children with learning disabilities.
