WEDNESDAY: GOV. MALLOY PARTICIPATES IN NATIONAL COAST GUARD MUSEUM CEREMONY; KEYNOTES SMALL TOWNS CONFERENCE; HOLDS COMMUNITY FORUM IN NORWALK
(HARTFORD, CT) - On Wednesday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will participate in a ceremony in New London, where he will sign a memorandum of agreement committing the State of Connecticut to support the development of the planned National Coast Guard Museum. Once complete, Connecticut will be home to the first-ever national museum dedicated to the U.S. Coast Guard. The Governor will be joined at the ceremony by Admiral Robert Papp, Commandant of the U.S. Coast Guard; James Coleman, Chairman of the National Coast Guard Museum Association; Senator Richard Blumenthal; Congressman Joe Courtney; and New London Mayor Daryl Justin Finizio.
In the afternoon, Governor Malloy will keynote the Connecticut Council of Small Towns 2014 annual meeting in Cromwell, where he will speak about his support for Connecticut's municipalities in his recently unveiled proposed budget.
In the evening, Governor Malloy and Lt. Governor Wyman will hold a community forum in Norwalk, where they will speak with members of the public on the state's pressing issues. This will be the first event in this year's series of gubernatorial forums.
