SATURDAY: GOV. MALLOY & LT. GOV. WYMAN WELCOME HOME NATIONAL GUARD SOLDIERS RETURNING FROM KUWAIT; SPEAK AT NAACP CONVENTION

(HARTFORD, CT) - On Saturday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman will greet approximately 70 Connecticut National Guard soldiers as they return home from a nine month deployment in Kuwait. The soldiers are from the 143rd Combat Sustainment Support Battalion of Waterbury and while deployed provided personnel, operational and logistical support services to combat-ready forces. With their return, the Connecticut National Guard does not have any units forward deployed for the first time since March 2003.

In the afternoon, Governor Malloy and Lt. Governor Wyman will make remarks at the Connecticut State Conference of NAACP Branches' 48th Annual State Convention in New Haven during the convention's "100 Most Influential Blacks in Connecticut Recognition Luncheon."

**DIRECTIONS: I-91N from Hartford to Exit 40 (Bradley Connector), then take 2nd exit (Route 75), RIGHT at the end of the exit. Follow Route 75 north to the Valero Service Station light. At that light, take a LEFT. Come to stop sign and take a RIGHT. Follow the airport perimeter road for approximately ½ mile to the AASF facility. Facility will be on your left.
