FRIDAY: GOV. MALLOY VISITS BRICKLAYERS APPRENTICESHIP SITE IN WALLINGFORD

(HARTFORD, CT) - On Friday at afternoon, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will visit an apprenticeship program in Wallingford, where a group of apprentices are receiving on-the-job training with related classroom instruction in the areas of bricklaying, cement mason and tile trades. Apprenticeship programs are operated through cooperative labor-management trusts and typically last three to five years, during which time apprentices earn wages while learning trades that will contribute to their careers. This visit with Bricklayers LU 1 will give the Governor an opportunity to meet with the apprentices and get a hands-on view of this program.
