WEDNESDAY: GOV. MALLOY VISITS BLOOMFIELD HIGH SCHOOL; SPEAKS AT MEETING OF COMMISSIONER'S NETWORK SCHOOLS

(HARTFORD, CT) - On Wednesday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will visit Bloomfield High School for an opportunity to hear from staff and teachers about the re-establishment of the school's mission and about new literacy initiatives at the school. The visit will begin with a roundtable discussion, followed by a tour.

In the afternoon, Governor Malloy will make remarks at a meeting hosted by the Department of Education with representatives of each of the state's Commissioner's Network schools. During the session, school representatives will learn more about the vision and expansion of the Commissioner's Network in the upcoming school year, and will share accomplishments and highlights from their turnaround plans. The Commissioner's Network is a state program that aims to turnaround some of the lowest performing schools in order to help students receive a quality education and close the achievement gap.
