MONDAY: GOV. MALLOY AND UCONN OFFICIALS COMMEMORATE FINAL APPROVAL OF NEXT GENERATION CONNECTICUT

(HARTFORD, CT) - On Monday afternoon, Governor Dannel P. Malloy, joined by UConn President Susan Herbst, state lawmakers and other UConn officials, will hold a ceremony in Storrs to celebrate the final approval of Next Generation Connecticut - a major initiative endorsed by over 100 businesses that invests $1.5 billion in UConn to support major expansions across three campuses, bring thousands of jobs to the state, and, over the next ten years, catalyze hundreds of millions of dollars in research investment and business activity. Legislation authorizing the initiative ( PA 13-233 ) was approved by the Connecticut General Assembly earlier this year.
