WEDNESDAY: GOV. MALLOY ATTENDS EVENTS IN MIDDLETOWN, DANBURY, NEW BRITAIN AND HARTFORD

(HARTFORD, CT) - On Wednesday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman will speak at the City of Middletown's annual September 11 remembrance ceremony, which this year will be held at the South District Fire Headquarters and will coincide with the dedication of the city's permanent 9/11 Memorial and Memorial Garden - a joint project of the South Fire District and the firefighters union. Moments of silence will be held at 8:46 a.m. and 9:02 a.m.

Following that, Governor Malloy will be in Danbury, where he will meet with representatives of the Regional Hospice and Home Care of Western Connecticut for a tour of the construction at the organization's new facility, which will contain the Healing Hearts Center for Grieving Children. The program is the only one of its kind in the state and provides workshops, social groups, and bereavement support to families in Western Connecticut. The organization received a $1.2 million state grant for the project.

In the afternoon, Governor Malloy will make remarks at the Connecticut State Building and Construction Trades Council's 91st annual convention in New Britain.

Later, Governor Malloy and Lt. Governor Wyman will attend the dedication ceremony of the official portrait of former Governor M. Jodi Rell.
