THURSDAY: GOV. MALLOY GREETS NATIONAL GUARD UNIT RETURNING FROM AFGHANISTAN; TOURS BIOPHARMACEUTICAL COMPANY THAT RECENTLY RELOCATED TO CONNECTICUT FROM NEW JERSEY

(HARTFORD, CT) - On Thursday at noon, Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman will welcome home approximately 160 Connecticut National Guard soldiers of the 1048th Transportation Company of Stratford, who will be returning from Afghanistan.

Later, Governor Malloy will visit Durata Therapeutics, a biopharmaceutical company that recently relocated its research and development, clinical, and regulatory operations from New Jersey to Branford utilizing a state economic development grant. The company, which develops therapeutics to treat infectious diseases and acute illnesses, expects to add up to 80 new full-time jobs by 2016.
