MONDAY: GOV. MALLOY HOLDS URBAN VIOLENCE ROUNDTABLE IN NEW HAVEN; ATTENDS GRAND OPENING OF WEST HAVEN TRAIN STATION; PARTICIPATES IN DEDICATION OF NEW BRIDGEPORT SCHOOL

(HARTFORD, CT) - On Monday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will join Mayor John DeStefano, Police Chief Dean Esserman, the New Haven state legislative delegation, and members of the New Haven community for a roundtable discussion on urban violence, including gun violence reduction strategies, community policing efforts, and other mitigation efforts. Immediately prior to the roundtable, Governor Malloy and the New Haven officials will join with Chief Esserman and other New Haven police officers to "walk the beat" in the Newhallville neighborhood of New Haven.

At noon, Governor Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman will make remarks at the grand opening ceremony of the new West Haven Train Station.

Later, Governor Malloy will make remarks at the dedication ceremony of Fairchild Wheeler Magnet High School - a STEM school and the first new high school to open in the City of Bridgeport in over 50 years.
