WEDNESDAY: GOV. MALLOY VISITS NEWTOWN & ANSONIA TO DISCUSS ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
(HARTFORD, CT) - On Wednesday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will visit Newtown, where he will meet with First Selectman Pat Llodra for a walking tour of the town's business district and speak with business owners about the village's economic recovery. Earlier this year,
Governor Malloy announced
a $500,000 Small Town Economic Assistance Program grant for the town to assist local businesses that incurred unforeseen economic losses in the wake of the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy.
In the afternoon, Governor Malloy will hold a news conference in Ansonia to announce a series of statewide economic development grants. He will be joined by Department of Housing Commissioner Evonne Klein, Mayor James Della Volpe, and other local officials.
