WEDNESDAY: GOV. MALLOY MAKES MAJOR STORM PREPAREDNESS ANNOUNCEMENT; ATTENDS NBC SPORTS INTERNATIONAL BROADCAST CENTER GRAND OPENING

(HARTFORD, CT) - On Wednesday afternoon, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will hold a news conference in Bridgeport, where he will make a major announcement concerning a statewide storm preparedness initiative to make Connecticut more resilient in the face of severe weather. He will be joined by Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Commissioner Daniel C. Esty, Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch, and other officials.

Later, Governor Malloy will make remarks at the grand opening ceremony of NBC Sports Group's International Broadcast Center in Stamford. In October 2011, Governor Malloy joined NBC Sports executives to announce that the company would consolidate much of its northeast operations and relocate to new headquarters in Stamford. The company now has over 478 employees at the new Connecticut location, with additional room for continued growth.
