TUESDAY: GOV. MALLOY COMMEMORATES PASSAGE OF BIOSCIENCE INNOVATION ACT
(HARTFORD, CT) - On Tuesday afternoon, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will hold a bill signing ceremony at the UConn Health Center in Farmington to commemorate final approval of the Bioscience Innovation Act - a legislative initiative the Governor proposed in January and was approved last month by the General Assembly that makes a $200 million investment over ten years to support the state's growing bioscience sector, attract additional private investments, and grow high-quality jobs.
He will be joined by Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman; UConn President Susan Herbst; Dean of the UConn School of Medicine Dr. Frank M. Torti; Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Catherine Smith; Connecticut Innovations CEO Claire R. Leonardi; The Jackson Laboratory for Genomic Medicine Vice President for External Affairs and Strategic Partnerships Mike Hyde; and state lawmakers.
