THURSDAY: GOV. MALLOY CELEBRATES PASSAGE OF NEW LAW INCREASING JOB CREATION INCENTIVES FOR VETERANS
(HARTFORD, CT) - On Thursday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will hold a bill signing ceremony in Hartford to commemorate passage of a new law ( Public Act 13-63 ) that increases the number of U.S. veterans who qualify for job creation incentives under the state's Subsidized Training and Employment Program (Step Up). The Step Up program was created in 2011 and offers several incentives to employers who hire unemployed job seekers, with specific incentives targeted to those who hire veterans. The Governor will be joined by Connecticut Department of Labor Commissioner Sharon Palmer, state lawmakers, and other state officials.
