GOV. MALLOY: FLOODING CONTINUES TO BE A CONCERN IN EASTERN CONNECTICUT
(HARTFORD, CT) - With some areas already receiving over four inches of rain and more forecasted for tomorrow, Governor Malloy is cautioning residents in eastern Connecticut to be alert to continuing flooding conditions, especially urban and flash flooding.
"Flooding is now occurring in parts of eastern Connecticut," Governor Malloy said. "The current forecast is calling for rain to continue into tomorrow, so I am asking all residents of eastern Connecticut to be on alert for possible flooding conditions and please remember to not drive through standing water."
The Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security (DEMHS) continues to monitor the storm and is ready to coordinate any response or assistance that may be necessary.
