SUNDAY: GOV. MALLOY MAKES AGRICULTURE ASSISTANCE ANNOUNCEMENT; ATTENDS ADDITIONAL EVENTS IN STAMFORD & HARTFORD

(HARTFORD, CT) - On Sunday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will make remarks at the start of the Mike Mile race in Stamford. The race benefits the Michael D. Rothman CIDP Research Fund.

At noon, Governor Malloy and Congressman John Larson will join a group of local farmers at a news conference in East Hartford, where they will make an agriculture announcement. Last week's intense precipitation caused many rivers and streams to flood important farmland areas in the Connecticut and Farmington River Valley regions. Thousands of Connecticut farms were affected by this year's severe weather. This marks the second time in three years that Connecticut farms have incurred serious crop damage from flooding.

Later, Governor Malloy will be honored by Gay & Lesbian Advocates & Defenders (GLAD) at a ceremony in Hartford for his commitment to the LGBT community. GLAD is New England's leading legal rights organization dedicated to ending discrimination based on sexual orientation, HIV status and gender identity and expression.
