WEDNESDAY: GOV. MALLOY ATTENDS COAST GUARD COMMENCEMENT; HOLDS NEWS CONFERENCE ON IMPACT OF SEQUESTER ON UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS; SPEAKS AT SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING EVENT

(HARTFORD, CT) - On Wednesday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will attend the U.S. Coast Guard Academy's 132nd commencement ceremony.

In the afternoon, Governor Malloy will hold a news conference in New London to discuss the impact that federal sequestration cuts will have on federal unemployment benefits in Connecticut. He will be joined by Connecticut Department of Labor Commissioner Sharon Palmer.

In the evening, Governor Malloy will speak at the 38th annual meeting of the Connecticut Academy of Science and Engineering in Hamden, where he will speak about his efforts to position Connecticut as a global leader in bioscience and ensure the state has a workforce attractive to businesses seeking science, technology, engineering and mathematics graduates.
