THURSDAY: GOV. MALLOY VISITS BROWNFIELD SITES IN WATERBURY & HARTFORD; KEYNOTES KENNEDY CENTER MEETING; PARTICIPATES IN MARITIME AQUARIUM EVENT

(HARTFORD, CT) - On Thursday afternoon, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will tour two brownfield sites - one in Waterbury and the other in Hartford - that recently received state assistance for remediation projects. Funding for the Waterbury site, located at 313 Mill Street, will help remediate the lot after it was damaged in a fire. Funding for the Hartford site will assist city efforts to convert the former Capewell Horse Nail Factory into 90 units of housing and 35,000 square feet of retail space.

In the evening, Governor Malloy will give the keynote address at the Kennedy Center's 62nd annual meeting and awards dinner in Bridgeport. The Kennedy Center, Inc. is a rehabilitation facility that offers program services to persons with special needs and disabilities, from birth through their senior years. On an annual basis, over two thousand individuals receive various program services through its divisions of Rehabilitation Services, Residential Services and Kennedy Industries.

Later, Governor Malloy will give remarks at The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk's annual Red Apple Gala, which raises funds for the aquarium's education programs.
