THURSDAY: GOV. MALLOY HIGHLIGHTS GROWING SUPPORT FOR NEXT GENERATION CONNECTICUT; SPEAKS AT CONNECTICUT IMMIGRANT DAY EVENT

(HARTFORD, CT) - On Thursday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy, UConn President Susan Herbst, students, faculty, legislators and representatives from a number of Connecticut companies, organizations and labor groups will hold a news conference to highlight the growing support for the Next Generation Connecticut legislative proposal. The initiative calls for a major investment in UConn to support expansions across three campuses, bring thousands of jobs into the state, and, over the next ten years, catalyze hundreds of millions of dollars in research investment and business activity.

In the afternoon, Governor Malloy will give welcoming remarks at the Connecticut Immigrant and Refugee Coalition's annual Connecticut Immigrant Day event, honoring local immigrants who have made significant contributions to their communities.
