MONDAY: GOV. MALLOY SPEAKS AT INSTITUTE OF MEDICINE MEETING; ATTENDS OPENING OF NEW SINGLE STREAM RECYCLING FACILITY; PARTICIPATES IN GROUNDBREAKING OF VETERANS MEMORIAL
(HARTFORD, CT) - On Monday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will give welcoming remarks at the Institute of Medicine's spring meeting, where he will speak about his ongoing commitment to the implementation of the Affordable Care Act.
At noon, Governor Malloy will attend the launch of the new Materials Recovery Facility in Shelton. The single-stream recycling facility is capable of processing up to 35 tons of recyclable material per hour of operation and will make it easier and more efficient of people and businesses throughout the state to recycle.
Later, Governor Malloy will join Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman, Department of Veterans Affairs Commissioner Linda S. Schwartz, Major General Thaddeus Martin and veterans from all five branches of the U.S. military for a groundbreaking ceremony at Minuteman Park in Hartford to commemorate the construction of the first state memorial honoring the 1.3 million Connecticut Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines who have served in the U.S. military.
