FRIDAY: GOV. MALLOY ATTENDS NATIONAL COAST GUARD MUSEUM ANNOUNCEMENT; HOLDS NEWS CONFERENCE WITH U.S. AGRICULTURE SECRETARY ON CHILDHOOD NUTRITION

(HARTFORD, CT) - On Friday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will join U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal, Congressman Joe Courtney, New London Mayor Daryl Justin Finizio, and Coast Guard officials to reveal plans for the new National Coast Guard Museum in New London.

In the afternoon, Governor Malloy will join U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack, U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal, Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro, Congressman Joe Courtney, West Hartford Mayor Scott Slifka and other state and local officials for a news conference at Wolcott Elementary School in West Hartford to discuss federal school lunch programs. The U.S. Department of Agriculture is partnering with state and local governments, non-profits, parents and teachers to improve the health of school lunches. Prior to the news conference, Secretary Vilsack and Governor Malloy will join students for lunch, which is open to the press.
