THURSDAY: GOV. MALLOY SIGNS LEGISLATION HELPING SMALL BUSINESSES EXPAND AND CREATE JOBS; HOLDS COMMUNITY FORUM IN NORWICH
(HARTFORD, CT) - On Thursday afternoon, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will hold a bill signing ceremony at a small business in Plainville to commemorate passage of legislation that makes funds available for the state's popular Small Business Express Program (EXP). The program was created in 2011 as a part of the Jobs Bill and helps Connecticut small businesses expand and grow jobs. To date, the program has helped create and retain over 8,100 jobs, with 622 small businesses participating. The Governor will be joined at the ceremony by lawmakers, small business owners and their employees.
In the evening, Governor Malloy will host a community forum in Norwich, where he will speak with members of the public on the state's pressing issues. This will be the third event of this series of community forums.
