GOV. MALLOY: SANDY HOOK ADVISORY COMMISSION TO HOLD MEETING FRIDAY ON MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES
(HARTFORD, CT) - Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the Sandy Hook Advisory Commission is next scheduled to
meet on Friday, March 22
, at the Legislative Office Building in Hartford, where they will receive testimony from experts on the topic of mental health, including issues related to access to care, public awareness, and discrimination.
Those anticipated to present testimony include Kim Pernerewski of the National Alliance of Mental Illness, Louise Pyers of the Connecticut Alliance to Benefit Law Enforcement, Deron Drumm of Advocacy Unlimited, and Bryan V. Gibb of the National Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare. Also presenting testimony will be state health care and insurance officials to speak about access to mental health care.
The meeting begins at 9:30 a.m. in Room 1A.
