FRIDAY: GOV. MALLOY PARTICIPATES IN NEW HAVEN DOWNTOWN CROSSING GROUNDBREAKING; SPEAKS AT LATINA BUSINESS LEADERS SUMMIT

(HARTFORD, CT) - On Friday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will join New Haven Mayor John DeStefano, Jr., Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro, and other local officials and guests at a groundbreaking ceremony for New Haven's Downtown Crossing project. The project will remove Route 34; reconnect city streets; create a pedestrian and bike-friendly environment that will allow new housing, retail and other amenities to develop; and reconnect the Hill neighborhood to Downtown New Haven.

In the afternoon, Governor Malloy will provide welcoming remarks at the sixth annual Women of ALPFA Summit, which is an event hosted by the organization's Hartford chapter that is designed to provide both women and men with tools they need to be great leaders in the workplace. ALPFA is a nonprofit organization with the mission to build Latino business leaders.
