TODAY: GOV. MALLOY VISITS BRANFORD COMPANY TO HIGHLIGHT JOBS PROPOSAL; ATTENDS OTHER EVENTS IN HARTFORD AND WEST HAVEN
(HARTFORD, CT) - On Thursday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will visit AxioMx in Branford, where he will meet with the company's executives and discuss his
legislative proposal to strengthen Connecticut's bioscience sector
and create good paying jobs with good benefits. AxioMx is a company founded in Branford in 2012 that specializes in customizing high-quality antibodies for research, diagnostics and therapeutics using knowledge gained from the past 15 years of human genome sequencing. The Governor's
bioscience legislation
is scheduled to be the subject of a Commerce Committee public hearing on Thursday.
In the afternoon, Governor Malloy will participate in a news conference at West Haven High School, where he will join with the school's administrators and administrators from the University of New Haven to announce a new, major collaboration between the two schools.
Following that, Governor Malloy will give opening remarks and make an announcement at the "Recycling Means Jobs Legislative Day" event at the State Capitol in Hartford, where the state's economic development and environmental officials will discuss the growing industry of reuse, recycling and materials recovery and how this diverse sector of Connecticut's economy is making an impact.
In the afternoon, Governor Malloy will participate in a news conference at West Haven High School, where he will join with the school's administrators and administrators from the University of New Haven to announce a new, major collaboration between the two schools.
