MONDAY: GOV. MALLOY ATTENDS NEWS CONFERENCE ANNOUNCING MORTGAGE ASSISTANCE EVENT; HIGHLIGHTS COMPREHENSIVE ENERGY PLAN IN WOODBRIDGE
(HARTFORD, CT) - On Monday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will join Attorney General George Jepsen and Connecticut Department of Banking Commissioner Howard Pitkin for a news conference to announce the details of the fourth state-sponsored homeowners' mortgage assistance event, scheduled for November 28 in Waterbury. A Brookfield homeowner who was successful in modifying her loan with the state's assistance will also participate. Approximately 3,400 people have attended the state's three previous events in Hartford, Bridgeport and Storrs.
In the afternoon, Governor Malloy will visit Amity Regional High School in Woodbridge to highlight one component in the state's draft Comprehensive Energy Plan. Last month, Governor Malloy unveiled a comprehensive energy strategy for the state, which looks to make cleaner, cheaper and more reliable energy available to more residents and businesses. The project in Woodbridge extended a natural gas line to Amity Regional High School, opening up a natural gas alternative to more than 80 homes. The Governor's plan looks to replicate that effort in areas across the state.
