FRIDAY: GOV. MALLOY UNVEILS NEW STATE INITIATIVE TO SUPPORT CONNECTICUT VETERANS; HOLDS CONFERENCE CALL WITH LOCAL CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE ON DISASTER ASSISTANCE FOR BUSINESSES
(HARTFORD, CT) - On Friday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman will announce the creation of a new state resource for U.S. military veterans seeking to access services in Connecticut during an event at Tunxis Community College in Farmington.
In the afternoon, Governor Malloy will join U.S. Small Business Administrator Karen Mills and officials from the Federal Emergency Management Agency on a conference call with representatives of chambers of commerce from throughout the state to help explain the disaster assistance available to the businesses community in Connecticut in the aftermath of Storm Sandy.
