WEDNESDAY: GOV. MALLOY HOLDS NEWS CONFERENCE ON CONSTRUCTION OF JACKSON LABS; VISITS CT AERO TECH SCHOOL

(HARTFORD, CT) - On Wednesday at noon, Governor Dannel P. Malloy, University of Connecticut President Susan Herbst, UConn Health Center Executive Vice President for Health Affairs Frank Torti, and Jackson Laboratory Vice President for Advancement Mike Hyde will hold a news conference at the UConn Health Center campus, where twelve buildings will begin demolition to make room for the construction of the new Jackson Laboratory facility. During the news conference, demolition will begin on the first of the twelve buildings.

Later, Governor Malloy will join Department of Education Commissioner Stefan Pryor and Department of Labor Commissioner Sharon Palmer for a visit to Connecticut Aero Tech School in Hartford, which is a member of the Connecticut Technical High School System and offers training programs in the aviation maintenance technology fields. The Governor and the commissioners will tour the facilities with Superintendent Patricia Ciccone and discuss their efforts to advance an industry that shows potential for continued growth in the state.
