WEDNESDAY: GOV. MALLOY ATTENDS GATEWAY COMMUNITY COLLEGE GRAND OPENING; ATTENDS SPECIAL OLYMPICS FUNDRAISER; COMMEMORATES COLLEGE READINESS LAW

(HARTFORD, CT) - On Wednesday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will join federal, state and local officials for the grand opening ceremony of Gateway Community College's new campus in downtown New Haven.

Afterward, Governor Malloy will give remarks at the kick-off ceremony for the Special Olympics of Connecticut's "Over the Edge" fundraiser in Stamford. Supporters who have been raising funds for the organization will have the opportunity to rappel 22 stories down one of Stamford's newest apartment buildings.

In the afternoon, Governor Malloy will hold a bill signing ceremony in Norwalk to commemorate the passage of Public Act 12-40, a new law that adds extra support for college students who need help in their regular courses and ensures that high school seniors are better prepared for the rigors of higher education.
