GOV. MALLOY, LT. GOV. WYMAN INVITE PUBLIC TO ATTEND 11th ANNUAL 9/11 MEMORIAL SERVICE
Sherwood Island Ceremony to Honor 153 Connecticut Residents Lost in Attacks
(HARTFORD, CT) - Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lieutenant Governor Nancy Wyman invite the public to attend the 11th annual Connecticut Remembers September 11th Memorial Service, to be held at Sherwood Island State Park in Westport on Monday, Sept. 10.
Family members of those lost in the attacks on Sept. 11, 2001 will join the service, and each of the 153 victims' names will be read aloud. Lt. Governor Wyman will be the keynote speaker. Also participating in the event will be the U.S. Coast Guard Cadet Glee Club, the Leathernecks of Connecticut and Marine Gunnery Sgt. Orville Grizzle, who will sound Taps.
The service will begin promptly at 5:30 p.m. and those attending are asked to assemble at 5 p.m.
