SATURDAY: GOV. MALLOY IN NEW LONDON FOR OPSAIL EVENTS

(HARTFORD, CT) - On Saturday, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will spend the day in New London for various OpSail2012CT celebrations and other related events.

In the morning, the Governor will participate in the OpSail2012CT Parade of Sail aboard the United States Coast Guard Eagle. After the Eagle docks at Fort Trumbull, Governor Malloy will participate in the OpSail2012CT Opening Ceremony.

Later, the Governor will join New London Mayor Finizio, Department of Economic & Community Development Deputy Commissioner Christopher "Kip" Bergstrom, Hygienic Art President A. Vincent Scarano and other state and local officials to dedicate three new murals commissioned through the state's City Canvas initiative.

Following that event, Governor Malloy will visit New London's Union Station where he will be joined by representatives of the One More Stop Coalition and other state and local officials to discuss the benefits of expanding Shore Line East train service in New London. The Connecticut Department of Transportation has scheduled 23 special Shore Line East weekend trains to help transport people for the OpSail2012CT festivities.
