FRIDAY: GOV. MALLOY KICKS OFF SUMMER READING CHALLENGE; PARTICIPATES IN STATE POLICE AWARDS CEREMONY

(HARTFORD, CT) - On Friday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will kick-off the launch of the 2012 Governor's Summer Reading Challenge at the State Library in Hartford and honor the winners of the 2011 challenge. The Governor's Summer Reading Challenge is an annual program co-sponsored by the State Department of Education and the State Library to encourage reading among school students across the state.

In the afternoon, Governor Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman will participate in the Connecticut State Police awards ceremony to honor emergency responders and civilians who have performed above and beyond in the line of duty for the people of Connecticut.
