GOV. MALLOY ORDERS FLAGS TO HALF-STAFF ON TUESDAY IN HONOR OF SPC. PHILIP C.S. SCHILLER
(HARTFORD, CT) - Governor Dannel P. Malloy directed flags to fly at half staff Tuesday, April 24, 2012, in honor of Army Specialist Philip C.S. Schiller, who was killed last week by small arms fire while on patrol in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan.
Spc. Schiller, 21, was born in Connecticut and moved to Texas where he joined the 1st Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division out of Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington. His father resides in Connecticut.
Flags will be lowered from sunrise until sunset tomorrow to mark Spc. Schiller's burial in Texas.
