TUESDAY: GOV. MALLOY RECEIVES HOUSING AWARD IN STAMFORD; ATTENDS PEZ VISITOR CENTER DEDICATION CEREMONY; HOLDS EDUCATION TOWN HALL IN NEW HAVEN

(HARTFORD, CT) - On Tuesday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will attend the New Neighborhoods, Inc. luncheon in Stamford, where he will be honored as the "2012 Champion of Housing" for his support and advocacy of affordable housing.

In the afternoon, Governor Malloy will participate in PEZ Candy, Inc.'s dedication ceremony for their new Visitor Center at the PEZ factory in Orange. The Visitor Center contains the largest, most comprehensive collection of PEZ memorabilia on public display in the world, a viewing area into the production floor, an interactive trivia game, an interactive historical time line, and a factory store.

Later, Governor Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman will host a town hall meeting on education reform in New Haven, where they will discuss the need to improve the state's public school system with parents, students, teachers, and other concerned members of the public. The event is the fourth stop of the Governor's Education Reform Tour.
