TUESDAY: GOV. MALLOY GIVES REMARKS AT YWCA WOMEN'S LUNCHEON; PARTICIPATES IN HIGHER ONE DEDICATION; HOLDS EDUCATION TOWN HALL IN WATERBURY
(HARTFORD, CT) - On Tuesday afternoon, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will give opening remarks at the YWCA Hartford Region's 2012 In the Company of Women Luncheon.
Later, Governor Malloy will participate in a ribbon cutting and dedication ceremony to celebrate the expansion of Higher One, Inc. in New Haven. The financial services company, which began in Connecticut in 2000, currently has 240 employees and is expected to add 300 more in the coming years. The expansion saw the company move its offices from Science Park to the former Winchester Arms factory.
In the evening, Governor Malloy will host a town hall meeting on education reform in Waterbury, where he will discuss the need to improve the state's public school system with parents, students, teachers, and other concerned members of the public. The event will be the eighth stop of the Governor's Education Reform Tour.
