THURSDAY: GOV. MALLOY GIVES REMARKS AT NEWS CONFERENCE ON MEDICAL RESEARCH INDUSTRY; SPEAKS TO STUDENTS ABOUT HIGHER EDUCATION; MEETS WITH STUDENT REPORTERS ABOUT EDUCATION REFORM BILL

(HARTFORD, CT) - On Thursday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will give brief remarks at a news conference in Hartford, where a report will be released that analyzes the medical research industry's impact on the state economy.

Later, Governor Malloy will speak with high school students about the benefits of seeking a higher education at the Central Connecticut Area Health Center's 2nd annual Rising STAR conference in Middletown. The conference will be attended by high school students from typically underserved areas.

In the afternoon, Governor Malloy will hold a media availability with student newspaper reporters from high schools across the state who will interview the Governor about his education reform proposals. [ Please note : While this event is open for all members of the media to attend, this is specifically an opportunity for high school student reporters to ask questions of the Governor. ]
