MONDAY: GOV. MALLOY ATTENDS OPSAIL2012 NEWS CONFERENCE; TOURS WATERFORD COCA-COLA FACILITY; ATTENDS BACKUS NURSES RALLY; HOLDS EDUCATION TOWN HALL IN NEW LONDON

(HARTFORD, CT) - On Monday afternoon, Governor Dannel P. Malloy, state and local officials, and OpSail2012CT will hold a news conference to kick off OpSail2012, an international sailing event that will bring naval vessels, tall ships, food vendors, carnival rides, live music, and other festivities to New London in July.

Later, Governor Malloy will visit the Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Southeastern New England facility in Waterford for an opportunity to meet with the company's management and its employees and to tour the facility. The company employs 107 people at its Waterford location.

Following that, Governor Malloy joins the Backus Federation of Nurses at a rally in support of their effort to get their first contract.

In the evening, Governor Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman will host a town hall meeting on education reform in New London, where they will discuss the need to improve the state's public school system with parents, students, teachers, and other concerned members of the public. The event will be the seventh stop of the Governor's Education Reform Tour.
