TUESDAY: GOV. MALLOY ATTENDS SPECIAL EDUCATION DAY EVENT; HOLDS MONTHLY COMMISSIONERS MEETING; TOURS HARTFORD CHARTER SCHOOL; VISITS HAMDEN BUSINESS; KEYNOTES HAMDEN CHAMBER EVENT; SPEAKS AT UTC CELEBRATION
(HARTFORD, CT) - On Tuesday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will give brief remarks at the Connecticut Special Education PTO Alliance's Special Education Day event at the State Capitol.
Later that morning, the Governor will hold his monthly meeting with the commissioners of each state agency. During the meeting, Consumer Counsel Elin Swanson Katz and Department of Veterans Affairs Commissioner Linda Schwartz will each give presentations with updates on issues concerning their respective offices.
In the afternoon, Governor Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman will visit Jumoke Academy Charter School in Hartford, where they will tour the school and discuss the Governor's proposals for reforming the state's education system with school administrators and other elected officials.
In the evening, Governor Malloy will visit Rumanoff's Fine Jewelry and Design in Hamden for a tour of the family-owned business. The tour will give Governor Malloy an opportunity to speak with the business owners about issues concerning the future growth of their company.
Later, Governor Malloy will give a speech and answer questions at the Hamden Chamber of Commerce's event, "An Evening with the Governor," where he will speak about his efforts to improve the business climate in Connecticut and get our state's fiscal house in order to promote job creation.
Finally, the Governor will give remarks at a ceremony hosted by United Technologies Corporation in Simsbury, where the company will be honoring more than 250 of its employees who have earned college degrees under the Employee Scholar Program. The corporation has invested over $1 billion in employee education.
