GOV. MALLOY'S TWO STORM PANEL TO MEET WEDNESDAY
(HARTFORD, CT) - The working group Governor Dannel P. Malloy created to review the preparedness, response and recovery efforts of Tropical Storm Irene and the October Nor'easter will meet on Wednesday, November 30.
At the meeting, which begins at 10:00 a.m. in Room 2D of the Legislative Office Building in Hartford, the panel will discuss a range of topics, including GIS mapping for quicker storm assessment and recovery, recommendations from municipal officials in the Town of Manchester, a conversation on the role of 2-1-1 in storm response, and a panel discussion with a group of local business leaders on the impact the two storms had on their respective companies.
Information on the meeting, including a list of panelists who will give presentations, can be found in the attached meeting agenda . It will be the sixth time the group has met since it was initially created by Governor Malloy in the aftermath of Tropical Storm Irene.
The eight-member group is charged with reviewing the preparedness, response and recovery efforts of the state and its partners - including the utilities and municipalities - related to Tropical Storm Irene and the October Nor'easter, and then presenting to Governor Malloy a set of recommendations on how those efforts can be improved.
