WEDNESDAY: GOV. MALLOY VISITS SPACE-CRAFT MANUFACTURING, INC. & WHELEN ENGINEERING CO.; SPEAKS AT TEACH FOR AMERICA EVENT

(HARTFORD, CT) - On Wednesday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will visit Space-Craft Manufacturing, Inc. in New Haven for an opportunity to speak with the company's management team and to tour the facility. Based in New Haven, company provides a range of precision-machined parts for the aerospace industry.

Later Wednesday afternoon, Governor Malloy will visit Whelen Engineering Company, Inc. in Chester, also for a tour of the company and to speak with its management team. Whelen is a manufacturer of emergency warning systems and designs and develops a wide range of innovative products. It employs approximately 500 people at its Chester facility.

During both of Wednesday's business meetings, Governor Malloy will discuss what he is hoping to accomplish in a bipartisan manner during the upcoming Jobs Special Session at the end of this month.

On Wednesday evening, Governor Malloy will give a speech at Teach for America's annual benefit dinner in Greenwich. The non-profit organization works to eliminate educational inequity by enlisting the nation's most promising future educators to teach for two or more years at schools located in low-income, urban communities.
