DISASTER RECOVERY CENTER AND DISASTER LOAN OUTREACH CENTER CLOSINGS START THURSDAY, OCTOBER 6TH

Residents and Businesses Can Still Register Online or by Phone until November 3rd

(MIDDLETOWN, CT) -- Federal and state officials today announced the closing of the Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) at Housatonic Community College in Bridgeport and six Disaster Loan Outreach Centers (DLOCs) operated by the U.S. Small Business Administration in North Haven, Farmington, Groton, Torrington, Orange and Guilford on Thursday, Oct. 6 at 7 p.m.

The DLOC at the East Haven Town Beach, 160 Cosey Beach Road, will remain open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday until it closes at 7 p.m. Oct. 13.

"Although the centers will be closing, residents and businesses who suffered losses and damages as a result of Tropical Storm Irene will still be able to register for much needed disaster assistance," said Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection Commissioner Reuben F. Bradford. "Registration will continue to be available online at www.disasterassistance.gov or by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362)."

Phone lines are open seven days a week, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. The deadline to register is November 3rd.
