TUESDAY: GOV. MALLOY KICKS OFF CT EMPLOYMENT & TRAINING COMMISSION MEETING; ATTENDS UCONN BUILDING DEDICATION; SPEAKS AT ADVOCACY UNLIMITED PRESENTATION

(HARTFORD, CT) - On Tuesday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will open a meeting of the Connecticut Employment and Training Commission, during which the commission's new chairman, Donald Shubert, will be introduced.

On Tuesday afternoon, Governor Malloy will attend a dedication ceremony for a new classroom building on the campus of the University of Connecticut in Storrs. The new building, constructed under the UConn 2000 program, will contain 16 classrooms and two larger lecture halls. It's the first of two new buildings planned to replace the existing outdated Arjona and Monteith buildings, which house the University's most heavily used classrooms, and will allow UConn to attract and keep more Connecticut residents in state for their college experience.

Also on Tuesday afternoon, Governor Malloy will speak at a presentation hosted by Advocacy Unlimited, an organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for all persons with or in recovery from psychiatric disabilities or co-occurring disorders, to showcase their new documentary "Shining Stars," which features the journey of four young adults from childhood into recovery.
