FRIDAY: GOV. MALLOY HOLDS POST-BOND COMMISSION MEDIA AVAILABILITY; ATTENDS MEDICARE ANNIVERSARY EVENT
(HARTFORD, CT) - On Friday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will hold a media availability at the conclusion of the scheduled meeting of the State Bond Commission. Items included in the meeting's agenda invest in the revitalization of Connecticut's infrastructure, create or maintain hundreds of construction-related jobs, and enhance future economic growth in the state.
Also on Friday morning, Governor Malloy will join Congressman John Larson and leadership from Hartford Hospital, Aetna and retiree advocates in a celebration to mark the 45th anniversary of the first Medicare payment. Medicare was signed into law by President Lyndon Johnson on July 30, 1965. The first Medicare payment was issued by the Aetna Insurance Company to Hartford Hospital on July 9, 1966.
