List of Registered Gas Marketers

PURPOSE: This Announcement makes public the names and addresses of gas marketers registered as of October 1, 2000.
EFFECTIVE DATE: October 1, 2000.
STATUTORY AUTHORITY: Conn. Gen. Stat. §12-264, as amended by 2000 Conn. Pub. Acts 174, §27.
REGISTERED AND UNREGISTERED GAS MARKETERS: A "registered gas marketer" is a gas marketer who is registered with the Department of Revenue Services (DRS) for purposes of the tax imposed under chapter 212 of the Conn. Gen. Stat. An "unregistered gas marketer" is a gas marketer who is not registered with DRS for purposes of the tax imposed under chapter 212 of the Connecticut General Statutes.
2000 LEGISLATION AUTHORIZES LIST OF REGISTERED GAS MARKETERS: Local gas distribution companies and municipal gas utilities are prohibited from transmitting gas for an unregistered gas marketer selling gas to an end user or users located in Connecticut. DRS will periodically make public the name and address of each registered gas marketer in an Announcement. (See Special Notice 2000(13), 2000 Legislation Affecting the Utility Company Gross Earnings Tax.)
ANNUAL AND QUARTERLY LISTS: Each January DRS will publish an annual announcement listing each registered gas marketer. The list will include the name and address of each registered gas marketer. Each annual list will replace the previous annual list.
DRS will publish a quarterly list of every gas marketer added to or deleted from the current annual list. The list will include the name and address of each gas marketer added to or removed from the annual list. The quarterly lists will be published by April 10, July 10, and October 10, of each year.
The quarterly lists are not cumulative. They must be read in conjunction with the current annual list and any quarterly list issued after the current annual list.
